Talk to Strangers is an encouragement to enter into communication and co-operation with strangers and to develop new design approaches in the process. With the help of textile handicraft techniques, meeting spaces are created in which cultural assets can be exchanged independently of language. Implicit knowledge in the form of textile handicraft techniques is passed on, enabling a dialogue far removed from language barriers. At the same time, Talk to Strangers is the search for a contemporary design strategy,
that puts people at the centre: Design by people, with people, from people and for people.

In a handicraft circle that takes place every Thursday at Café Roland, people from different cultures meet and do handicrafts together, speaking with their hands, through aesthetics and through emotions. The results of these encounters are put into a visual dialogue in a collection that will be shown at the fashion show on 13 July at 4 pm.
