Artists' Social Security Fund

The self-employed often struggle with the high costs of health and pension insurance. However, there is an alternative for self-employed artists and publicists: they can insure themselves through the Künstlersozialkasse and pay only 50% of the contributions, which can mean savings of up to €4,000 per year. But which professions or activities fall within the scope of the Künstlersozialkasse? What requirements must be met in order to be included in the artists' social security fund? What happens if other income is earned in addition to the artistic activity?

At the Creative After Work on Wednesday, 19 March 2025 at 7 pm at EMMA - Kreativzentrum Pforzheim the lawyer Andri Jürgensen gives an overview of the Künstlersozialkasse and answers all relevant questions about the KSK.

Andri Jürgensen is a freelance journalist and lawyer specialising in the KSK. After training as a commercial pilot, he completed internships at Schauspielhaus Kiel, Hamburg 1 Fernsehen and ZDF as well as trainee stages at Kunsthalle Mannheim and Nationaltheater Mannheim. He also worked as a freelance editor for 3Sat. His clients include creative professionals and companies from all over Germany.

The lecture will be followed by music by Firat Yildiz and Burak Erdogan, snacks and drinks.
