Creative After Work

A world without waste - is that possible? Almost everything we use today will be thrown away sooner or later. However, raw materials are becoming increasingly scarce and the damage to nature is growing. The approach of Circular Design is therefore to design products in such a way that they remain usable for a long time and their raw materials can be reused. In addition, a system is created to include the material flows and production methods involved in the design process and to minimise the impact on natural ecosystems. The lecture by Dr Sonja Eser will provide an overview of paradigm shifts and circular design strategies. Afterwards there will be music by Firat Yildiz and the opportunity to chat over snacks and drinks.

Dr Sonja Eser has been working as a circular design consultant since 2010 and supports companies, administrations and organisations with their circular economy innovations. She has also been a lecturer in Circular Design at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences since 2010. She developed one of the first realised single-family houses according to Cradle to Cradle, was a consultant for the Circular Economy exhibition area at the Museum Futurium Berlin, is the editor of "Circular Design in der Praxis" and was a consulting expert in the Interreg project Alpin Space Circular 4.0 on behalf of the administrative districts of Swabia, Salzburg and Vienna SMEs. She is currently one of the leading experts at DIN in the development of ISO standards for the circular economy.
