The self-employed often struggle with high costs for health and pension insurance. However, there is an alternative for freelance artists: they can insure themselves through the Künstlersozialkasse and pay only 50% of the contributions, which can mean savings of up to €4,000 per year. But what requirements must be met in order to be accepted into the artists' social insurance fund? Can designers, photographers or filmmakers also be admitted to the KSK? What happens if other income is earned in addition to artistic work? At Creative After Work, lawyer Andri Jürgensen will provide an overview of the Künstlersozialkasse and answer all relevant questions about the KSK.

Andri Jürgensen is a lawyer specialising in artists' social security law. Before studying law, he worked as an intern at the Schauspielhaus Kiel, at Hamburg 1 Fernsehen and ZDF and as a freelance editor for 3Sat.
