Designers in Residence" exhibition
Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 11 am - 6 pm (closed on public holidays)
Venue: Haus der Wirtschaft, Willi-Bleicher-Straße 19, 70174 Stuttgart, entrance foyer

In cooperation with the Design Centre Baden-Württemberg, the exhibition "Designers in Residence" will be shown at the Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart.
"Designers in Residence" is an international scholarship programme run by the city of Pforzheim for young designers from the fields of jewellery, fashion, accessories and industrial design. Since 2016, the city of Pforzheim has organised the scholarship annually in cooperation with the Design Center Baden-Württemberg and Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences. During the three-month scholarship, they are given the opportunity to work intensively on a project independently of their studies or professional activities.
In the exhibition from 12 September until 25 October 2018 at the Design Centre Baden-Württemberg, the scholarship holders will show the projects they have worked on during these three months.

James Boock, an industrial designer from New Zealand, is showing an interactive installation about the influence of artificial intelligence, in particular the Chinese social credit system, on our everyday lives. Israeli jewellery designer Avital Chalemsky translates emotions into jewellery, while fashion designer Ágnes Várnai's "Glue in Reality" project provides insights into today's quasi-religions: with the help of augmented reality, which is accessible via an app on smartphones or tablets, visitors encounter representatives of these religions, such as the gluten shaman or the priest of veganism.

2025 - The company of tomorrow
Time:
9 am - 5 pm and 10 am - 6 pm
Location: EMMA - Creative Centre Pforzheim, Emma-Jaeger-Straße 20, 75175 Pforzheim

What does the future of your company look like and how can you prepare for the associated challenges? In addition to day-to-day operations, there is rarely enough time to deal with the strategic goals of the company. The workshop uses scenario techniques to develop a customised strategy outline for your company in 2025, taking into account future developments and trends.

Design thinking is a method for coming up with creative and user-orientated ideas and solutions in a short space of time. Companies such as Google, SAP and Facebook use this method to find innovations. The workshop is aimed at companies that are looking for new ways to further develop their company in a customer-orientated way and would like to deal with the Design Thinking method on the basis of specific topics. In the workshop, the method is introduced through a keynote speech and case studies, and insights into the topics of user experience and human-centred design are provided. The individual process steps of Design Thinking will then be applied to specific topics in order to develop a customised concept sketch for your own company.

No prior knowledge of Design Thinking or other methodological skills are required for the workshop.
