Let's talk about money! - Financing models for founders

Wednesday, 8 October 2025 at 7 pm

People don't like to talk about money, but the topics of capital and financing are just as important as they are obscure, especially for young founders and start-ups at the beginning of their first start-up project. What financing models are there and which are suitable for your own start-up? How do I find the right financial support and what criteria must be met for my project to be financed? When is the right time to start thinking about capital?

At the Creative After Work on Wednesday, 8 October 2025 at 7 pm at EMMA - Kreativzentrum Pforzheim, we will focus on the topic of start-up financing. Entrepreneur Cindy Fernandez from bloomwood, Managing Director of reuse.me Rudolf Siegle and Eduard Sabelfeld from L-Bank's Corporate Finance department will provide practical insights into different financing methods for founders and start-ups. They will share their experiences with business angels, crowdfunding, funding programmes and microloans and talk about when which financing model is suitable, when it makes sense to plan financing and how best to prepare. The evening will be moderated by Stephanie Hock from MFG Baden-Württemberg.

Afterwards there will be music from the Sense Collective, snacks and cool drinks.

Cindy Fernandez is the founder of bloomwooda natural cosmetics label from the Black Forest. Its skincare range combines local medicinal plants such as daisies, ribwort plantain, nettle, camomile and rosemary with modern cosmetic science and a supply chain that is as regional as possible. With four care chapters, bloomwood is currently in the market entry phase - via a web shop, pop-up store in the Pforzheim pedestrian zone and concept stores in Pforzheim and Stuttgart.

Rudolf Siegle is managing director and founder of reuse.meGermany's largest network for the return of shipping packaging. The former logistics manager set up his own business in 2021 with the sustainable recycling system for packaging.

Eduard Sabelfeld works in the area of corporate financing at L-Bank. He is in charge of the Pre-Seed programme for the early-stage financing of start-ups. In addition to analysing, evaluating and selecting start-ups, he manages the 2-year funding phase as portfolio manager and is project coordinator of the NXTGN lighthouse competition.

Stephanie Hock is spokesperson for the German Cultural and Creative Industries Support Network and project manager for the cultural and creative industries at MFG Baden-Württemberg. To date, she has developed and promoted synergies between business, culture and administration in various settings and regions. At MFG, she has been advising creative professionals and companies on economic issues and managing funding projects for the sector since 2017.
