An FSJ in Pforzheim is possible in several places, including EMMA - Kreativzentrum Pforzheim. An FSJ Culture, i.e. a voluntary social year in the field of culture, offers you the opportunity to spend a year getting a taste of a cultural organisation, gaining work experience, meeting new people and finding out what you would like to do one day. You will be part of the team, take on a variety of tasks, realise a project on your own responsibility and be there live everywhere!
The FSJ Culture lasts 12 months and always starts on 1 September. You will receive a monthly allowance and a certificate at the end of the FSJ. In addition to your daily work, you will attend seminar weeks and can complete training days. EMMA - Kreativzentrum Pforzheim has been offering a place for the FSJ Kultur in Pforzheim since 2016. EMMA has offices, studios, coworking spaces and workshops for creative professionals, including photographers, designers, filmmakers, illustrators, social media marketing agencies and many more. . EMMA organises network meetings and workshops for creative professionals and is the point of contact for all their questions and concerns. The EMMA also has event rooms and a beautiful roof terrace where exhibitions, conferences and parties are held. In addition to the EMMA, there is also the A.K.T;, a former school stairwell that is now home to art and design exhibitions, student research and a café. The A.K.T; is also managed by the EMMA team.
What can you expect during your FSJ at EMMA? Your tasks here are very varied, from managing our social media channels to writing and archiving press articles, maintaining the website, organising and supporting events and communicating with the creative people at EMMA. We are a small team of 3 people, so you will be right in the middle of it all and will be involved in all tasks. As many creative people work at EMMA and we collaborate with many partners, there is always something going on and it never gets boring!
