Creative After Work
Start: 7 pm
Location: EMMA- Kreativzentrum Pforzheim, Emma-Jaeger-Straße 20, 75175 Pforzheim

E-book sales are stagnating worldwide for the first time. In the face of digitalisation, readers are returning to printed books and publishers are not only having positive experiences with the hype of digital business models: profit margins are small, investments in new technologies are high and digital copy protection is a discontinued model. Against this backdrop, there is a return to the quality of content, to the feel and aesthetics of printed and beautiful books.

Dr Petra Karin Kiedaisch, editor and publisher of the specialist publishing house av edition, introduces the work of a publishing house in her lecture and describes the challenges that an international publishing house for architecture and design has to face today. What functions does a printed book have compared to the internet, apps and e-books? How do I design successful titles? Why are architects and designers different from the 'normal' reader? With 20 years of experience in publishing, the publisher takes a stand on current questions and gives an exclusive insight into the new releases for the autumn just before the Frankfurt Book Fair.
